Paradiplocampta tabeti - male

Paradiplocampta tabeti - Male
5 mi N Elfrida, Cochise County, Arizona, USA
August 10, 2007
Size: 6 mm
One described species in the genus, known from Arizona and California.

Thanks for posting this, Joel -
The wing venation alone ought to attract attention, though I haven't seen it yet.
An unrelated question: do you know whether anyone is currently reviewing the genus Villa?

Paradiplocampta
The wing shape is also distinctive, although this angle doesn't show it too well - I could tell this was something different as soon as I collected it, although I didn't know what it was at the time

As for Villa, there is nobody working on it that I know of. As far as I know, there is nobody currently doing revisionary work on Nearctic bee flies except Andy Calderwood -- Neal Evenhuis may have some things in the pipeline but I think he's mostly publishing on Old World mythicomiids for now.
