Dragonfly ID? - Arigomphus villosipes
Falmouth, Cumberland County, Maine, USA
July 4, 2008
Unable to get a good view of thorax from side. Found at a drainage pond filled with Twelve-Spotted Skimmers, Common Green Darners, Common Whitetails, Widow Skimmers, Slaty Skimmers -- but nowhere near as numerous as these other species - possibly only one or two of these.

Unicorn Clubtail,
Arigomphus villosipes, male. They're one of the few clubtails to hang around ponds rather than rivers.

Thanks June
That prompted me to look more closely at some of the photos and find the "unicorn"!
