Stratiomyini; Psellidotus? - Odontomyia - female

Stratiomyini; Psellidotus? - Odontomyia - Female
Avondale , Maricopa County, Arizona, USA
March 26, 2020
Curious if this Soldier Fly might be identified beyond Tribe with these photos. Was resting on a Coreopsis lanceolata flower petal at 12:30 pm. On iNaturalist, Genus Odontomyia was suggested by Martin Hauser, stating "close to O tumida." He disagreed this was Psellidotus. Based on an ID suggestion by expert, Martin Hauser here: https://www.inaturalist.org/observations/40801618, this Soldier fly might be best moved to Odontomyia. The agreement with Odontomyia was based on this amateur's comparison and reading of notes on BugGuide such as: there are no stripes on the legs; rather a uniform orangish color similar to Odontomyia images, the basal antennae are short (similar to both), the form of the black markings above the antennae are not exactly like any images found but there are less markings than images of Psellidotus, in which all seem to have a mustache shape which appears lacking here.

Ken Wolgemuth, Re: Genus ID disagreement
What happens in a case like this where two experts do not agree on Genus?

Well, in this case...
...one of the experts is a fly specialist and the other is not--so that makes it easy. Moved to Odontomyia. :)

Thank you
Ken
