Soft beelte (Cantharidae?) - Nemognatha lutea

This beetle species is quite common on thistle (Cirsium sp.). Its elytra are quite soft, making me think it is either in the Cantharidae or Oedemeridae family.

opinion of John Pinto:
"I'm not sure -- it's possible nigripennis would get that far north. I think it is most likely lutea."
