I thought Lonhorn family but uncertain - Derobrachus hovorei
Indian Wells, Riverside County, California, USA
July 4, 2008
Size: 3-4 inches
Creepy skull looking face. Was stationary and let me take all sorts of pictures. Thought perhaps it was a Longhorn but after seeing some photos they appear to have different eyes? Never seen anything like this here, it was also pitch black outside but am pretty certain it is all black, save for a reddish belly.

Derobrachus hovorei
i think

I agree.
Belov's identification is correct. The specimen is a male. Females have more slender antennae, are usually even larger, and heavier-bodied.
