Hi Matt
Gulf Fritillary - about to pupate by the look of it. Here's my one in action

-
Oh cool! I'd love a picture of a fritillary!
He has pupated since the picture.
I see them all the time but the ones I've encountered so far are skittish.
Thanks Hannah!

If you want a shortcut for your IDs
it occurs to me you might search my images first. I give them an identifier so I can find images quickly - so for instance "hnm beetle" in the search field would show up all the beetles I've submitted, or "hnm bug" all the true bugs. Of course they are getting a bit polluted with Canadian images now, but at least you could scan through and see if there were any that match yours. Seems like there's a lot of overlap between your images and mine, though yours are usually better. : )

Thanks
Hannah. I'll try that!
How long will that fritillary take to emerge? Is there an averag # of days? (just approximately)
thxs

About two weeks is usual (barring diapause)
Almost exactly that in the case of my one (above) - pupated 10/22, emerged 11/4.

See my article on Raising Caterpillars (click on my name) for more details and resources if you need them.
