Schinia biundulata

Schinia biundulata
Warren/ Crooked Creek Road, Pryor Mountains, Carbon County, Montana, USA
June 3, 2021
Caught in UV trap as part of Northern Rockies Research and Educational Services' surveying effort, the Montana Moth Project.

Moved
Moved from Butterflies and Moths. This species would not be expected at this location, but I can find none other that fit. Can you recall what the habitat was like where this was found?

Steve,
So sorry for the delay on this. The habitat in which we found this specimen is considered high, red desert (the only such piece of habitat like this in Montana). It is characterized by red/pink soils with sagebrush/ juniper being the dominant vegetation. When we collected this specimen, lupine, fleabane and wild onion were blooming.

The ID was confirmed by Chuck Harp at CSU.

Thanks!
That is exactly the habitat you would expect to find this and Chuck's opinion is well-respected.
