Trimerotropis verruculata ssp. verruculata
I'm not sure, but I think "Road Duster" more properly refers to Dissosteira carolina (Carolina Grasshopper). This one kids used to call "Cracker", probably still do(??). Two Circotettix species may be in the area too (maybe it's too far north?), but they are louder, one has clear to black wings, the other yellow with an ill-defined black cross band. Both are very similar to this, but even louder when they fly, and with broader wings and yellowish hind tibiae.
