Caterpillar Hunter? - Ditylus

Caterpillar Hunter? - Ditylus
near Cedarville, Mackinaw County, Michigan, USA
June 5, 2021
This feels like a Caterpillar Hunter (Calosoma) but I'm new to identifying beetles. I can't seem to find an exact match. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

yeah... nice find
...but as unrelated to carabids as it gets, within beetles

I'm not convinced this is even a carabid beetle.
I know well the carabid fauna of Michigan. Unfortunately for me the photographic quality here is a major obstacle. The non-uniform intervals of elytra might suggest the carabid genus Notiophilus. Knowing body length (millimeters) would be helpful. Also, oblique-lateral views of beetles are generally difficult to interpret. Others I'm sure will provide additional insights.

Thanks
Thanks Peter. As I mentioned, I am new to IDs in the area. I appreciate the input.
