Started seeing these today. It appears to be a slug caterpillar of some sort. It sure did have a slug like appearance and movement.

I found
an almost identical match in the Syrphid fly larva gallery. It was identified as 'Pseudodoros clavatus'. Mine were even in close proximity to some aphids that look a lot like the oleander aphids in the image I saw. My aphids were much redder though.

Thank you so much for your diplomatic input, lol. I realize that I am wrong more often than right about new critters I find and more often than not, you manage to set me straight. I appreciate the info and efforts.

We think it is great that you try.
If you don't try to figure these guys out you will likely never learn them. Our thought is the amount you learn is directly proportional to the time and effort you put in. If you just post images and wait for answers, we don't think you're going to remember them. Congratulations on all the effort you put in here (and the lovely images we all get to enjoy!)
