Camp Wood, Edwards County, Texas, USA

Size: apx. 13 mm long
This specimen was among my earlier submissions. At that time I was not spreading my specimens, so this specimen would have been field pinned. BOLD had reported to me that some of my specimens which were sent an the 8X12 mailer had been dislodged in the mail handling and sent me instructions as to how to pin them better in the future. My T. sicitior specimen was sent in a 4X4 mailer along with 2 other specimens and I have NO idea as to the arrival condition of the 3 specimens sent in that box.

It could be that I damaged the specimen with my fingers trying to pin it, or left it in a catching vial in the refrigerator and it damaged itself.

Donald LaFontaine feels that the specimen in the sheet photograph is not the same as my field pinned specimen partially because of the coloration of the ST line of the field pinned photo taken by the BOLD group.

The only other specimen that has been barcoded from the US was collected in a light trap by Hugo Kons, so it is also worn and would not photograph the same under sheet lighting conditions.

So, my guess is that No One knows with certainty what a live T. sicitior would look like.
