Unknown caterpillar - Urodus parvula
Aydlett, Currituck County, North Carolina, USA

Size: Around 1 inch long
I found this hanging off my sleeve on a silk (?) thread while walking through a forested area. I set it on a maple leaf to take its picture.

Did you get a lateral shot?
We're thinking this is a sawfly larva

Thank you both
Thank you both, and apologies for the delayed reply. No, I did not get a lateral shot, unfortunately.

It certainly does look like a Urodus parvula based on a Google search, and it was in an area with a fair amount of Persea (I saw one site that said they can be found on Persea).

Thank you for the ID assistance!
