Oecanthinae from Raspberry bush - Oecanthus fultoni

Oecanthinae from Raspberry bush - Oecanthus fultoni
Racine, Racine County, Wisconsin, USA
July 7, 2008
Size: 3mm
Second individual found on the underside of raspberry leaf, which is white. I noticed today that there are small black speckles on the stem of raspberry...so the dots on the tree cricket might be a form of camouflage?

Moved
Moved from Long-horned Orthoptera. This turned out to be a Snowy Tree Cricket....and one of its brothers calls from the same raspberry patch every evening. The male in this photo has been living on my patio on a raspberry plant for 2 weeks and calls everynight. There are also 2 females that were 'transplanted' there.
