Acronicta exilis ?? - Acronicta

Acronicta exilis ?? - Acronicta
Tallahassee, Leon County, Florida, USA
June 15, 2021
Size: About 15 mm TL
Attracted to black lights at dawn. This is clearly Acronicta something, but not sure what. A. exilis seems like the best image fit to me and there are other Florida records, at least one. But A. ovata is a strong possibility based on image comparisons. No Florida records for this species in BG.

Moved from ID Request.

Add modica and increta to the list of hard-to-rule-out species.

Acronicta
Thanks Bob. Well it is an extremely large Genus, so I suppose there are bound to be a few look alikes!
