Dark skipper - Amblyscirtes hegon

Dark skipper - Amblyscirtes hegon
Cascade River State Park, Cook County, Minnesota, USA
July 1, 2008
Size: ~0.75 inch
Seen in moist area at edge of woodland at midday. Underside of wings fairly plain.

Moved
Moved from Amblyscirtes.

Pepper and Salt Skipper
Very worn condition makes it difficult to ID to species. Several apparent spots occur dorsal which do not occur on A. vialis thus A. hegon.

Moved
Moved from Grass Skippers.

A Roadside skipper
based upon the checkered antennae. Very worn but either Common Roadside skipper or Pepper and Salt Skipper
http://butterfliesofamerica.com/imagehtmls/Hesperiinae/Amblyscirtes_hegon_Clay_Co_NC_USA_21-V-05_i.htm

Moved
Moved from Butterflies.

It's one of the Grass Skippers,
but it's so worn it's impossible for me to make an ID. Two reasonable guesses are Crossline Skipper and Tawny-edged Skipper.

Thanks!
There are so many skippers I still get them all mixed up. This helps a lot, thank you!
