Fly with phoretic pseudoscorpion - Minettia

Fly with phoretic pseudoscorpion - Minettia
Nashua, Hillsborough County, New Hampshire, USA
June 21, 2021
While not numerous, these flies have been a regular sight in the shaded corners of our property where they perch on the leaves of low-growing plants. This particular individual was sitting on a potato leaf when I noticed something sticking off of it. Looking at the photos now I can see it has a phoretic pseudoscorpion clinging to the best of one of its legs.

Note the dark bar across the face.
