I believe you will appreciate a plate http://www.zin.ru/animalia/coleoptera/images/jacobs83.jpg showing mostly desert beetles –- the last one of the Jakobson’s book. The guy took cyanide from his bug jar and killed himself at 55, in late 1926, the very day he finished a manuscript of a field guide. He grew increasingly depressed after the last part of his opus magnum went in flames with the printing house in 1917’s St. Petersburg. There was no duplicate copy. His marriage was a disaster; while in college, he married a prostitute out of goodness of his heart, but she turned out a mean and greedy b***h who made his life miserable. He was adored by everybody around, incredibly devoted to science, and supportive to rookies, of whom quite a few became great entomologists.

Thank you
I really enjoyed the plate. I can feel for the loss of the manuscript. I'm always worried about my computer crashing - I store all my artwork as digital files for printing.
