Confirmed.

If size not exaggerated, then a male Philanthus crabroniformis. Good call!

Thanks Eric for the id. I took this with a point and shoot Canon SX100 and while I got in close, the size is not really exaggerated. I wish I had spent more time watching where it was going after the flower, but as I live in Kamloops and took the picture in Vernon, I have missed that opportunity.
