big black fly - Aldrichia ehrmanii

big black fly - Aldrichia ehrmanii
Lake Meyer Park, Winneshiek County, Iowa, USA
June 10, 2020
Size: ~8 mm
Might this be the bee fly, Aldrichia ehrmanii? Interestingly, I found this fly with another one nearby that was more fuzzy with white hairs on its body. My thought is the more fuzzy fly might be the female and this one the male?

Thanks so much for identifying this as the bee fly, Aldrichia ehrmanii, Ken! I thought that might be what it was.
