Size: 18.5 mm
Very elongate hymenopteran with red abdomen, long antennae, and black thorax with yellow dorsal dot. Visiting inflorescences of a flowering Euphorbia esula patch ca 3 m by 7 m on a moderately sloping, dry NE bank above and 6 m away from the stream. Dense spurge patch with Elymus cinereus and Symphoricarpos occidentalis, being visited by many insects. Sunny day, light air to light breeze, 81 F, time around midday.

Elevation ca 4000 feet. Disturbed, shrubby riparian corridor on stream restoration site within a patchwork of native and non-native grassland.
