unknown dragonfly - Somatochlora linearis

July 1, 2021
Size: ~65 mm
A swarm of these were found in our neighborhood on 3 subsequent evenings after a period of heavy rains. They seemed to be using a fire hydrant as a landmark. Every evening individuals in the swarm would make repeated flights in the area over the hydrant.
