Northern pearly-eye - Lethe anthedon - Lethe eurydice

Came upon these in the woods. I suspect they are a male and female. They were flying about, then landed on some broad bladed grass and “merged.”

Moved from ID Request.

Eyed Brown
Eyed Brown are easily confused with Northern Pearly-eye. But note the lines are not as thick as in the Pearly-eyes. Also the white shading in Pearly-eyes is a little different. Another good field mark to compare is the shape of the forewing post median lines in each species.
Note the inwardly directed tooth on the hindwing basal line (the inner most line on the hindwing.

Pearly-eye vs Eyed Brown
Thank you for correcting the identification. I looked at dozens of pictures of both kinds, and thought I had figured out its proper ID. There seem to be variations within each kind, and many photos aren’t the best quality.
