Misidentification by photographer as Perhaps Twelve-spotted Skimmer female - Plathemis lydia - Female

Size: ~4"
BUT Kerst & Gordon show barely separated yellow spotting on sides of body as opposed to discrete blue spotting here. Also entire body and eyes are very black on this dragonfly.K&G show lighter. Grateful for any explanations.
