I think this is a meadowhawk and think it is a female. It looks closest to a Ruby Meadowhawk to me, but looking for verification or a lead in the right direction.

Yes it's a Meadowhawk,
We can't tell if it is a female or a young male from this angle. Sympetrum rubicundulum is a reasonable guess, but the reality is that they can't be told apart without having the animal under a magnifying glass, which is why we are in the process of grouping them together now here on BugGuide.
