Unknown Fly - Strauzia

Unknown Fly - Strauzia
Vermont, USA
July 8, 2008
Size: Very small
I would not have noticed this fly if it had not literally landed in front of me as I was preparing to shoot a flower. Very small, and unusual colors. I have never seen on like this before, thought it might be an immature syrphid fly. Any chance of getting a specific classification? I've uploaded 3 photos, but I was shooting with a 200mm lens so the macros are not great. Flash used to try and get a clearer image in some photos.
