I can't find this hover fly amongst the images that I have submitted and take it that it is a different one. Any ID and info would be very welcome. Thanks

Thank you both for naming this for me.

Lapposyrphus lapponicus
Sides of tergite 5 black, yellow at basal corners, frons not inflated, genetalia not enlarged. Lapposyrphus lapponicus. I`ve sent it to Martin for a second opinion.

It is a male of the syrphini subfamily, and the genus is Eupeodes.
