Warren Steiner recognized it immediately
turns out, this thing had been around for a while, and is of Oriental rather than Neotropical origin --see

certainly this genus --except the beast doesn't look like anything i know to occur in our area... suspect a new arrival, must show around
the closest local thing, to my eye, is
crenatum
(which has rather rough pronotal margins + a meatllic tinge)
