Size: Approximately 1 cm
Found 11:30 am CST on wild morning glory and tall grass near dill. Several individuals (3-4) within a 30 cm diameter area.

Motionless except for one or two instances where triangular end (without black fringe) briefly raised upward (reverse sit-up).

Backyard mowed semi-regularly (7-10 days).

Maybe Chelymorpha cassidae
Chelymorpha cassidae pupae have that white stuff. Maybe it's that species.
