I don't think I've ever seen this kind at the arboretum. It's nice to know I can still look forward to finding new things there.

Colors remind me of a paper wasp found there.
This one of just a few I've noticed there. I know we see entirely different things and suspect you're much more thorough than I am. For the past couple weeks, I've been concentrating on small bees and wasps. There are a lot out now. Check the patch of yellow flowers closest the nature center. These guys are very quick and don't hang around long. They seem to come in waves. Good hunting!
