Ground-seep Drosophilid - Drosophila - male

Ground-seep Drosophilid - Drosophila - Male
Windham Rail Trail, Windham, Rockingham County, New Hampshire, USA
August 10, 2020
Size: 2 mm
This small drosophilid-like fly was found on the face of a rock wall where water was trickling down, creating a brown film of bacteria. Dolichopodid adults and chironomoid larvae were the most abundant insects at this place.
I wasn't able to get a shot of the wing venation before it fled, unfortunately.

Moved
Moved from Flies.

Drosophila
Appears to have sex combs, so a Drosophila male.
