(Anisota sp.) (?) on Water Oak - Anisota
Peachtree Corners, Gwinnett County, Georgia, USA
July 18, 2021
Size: ~ 2.3 cm
Resembles Orange-tipped Oakworm moth caterpillars (Anisota senatoria) (?)

On Water Oak (Quercus nigra) along the edge of a large clearing in a mixed pine/ deciduous forest. Smaller (~ 1.2 cm) solid yellow caterpillars with black heads/ tentacles were present on an adjoining tree branch (…presumably an earlier instar?) (Thanks)
