Millipede - Motyxia

Millipede - Motyxia
near Kernville, Kern County, California, USA
June 28, 2008
Size: about 5cm

Hi, just wondering....
I was just wondering, what was the habitat like where this was found? Was it a forested area, or more dry and arid? Was the millipede in a log, or under leaf litter?
Thanks in advance!

Habitat
This was near a trail in a forest with a stream not too far away. I found it under a rock or maybe a log and photographed it on the damp soil where I found it.

Nice...

Again, thank you!

Thanks Rowland
If I find any more of these, I'll make sure to have a look at it at night.

By the orange color, this is
By the orange color, this is a species of Motyxia instead of Xystocheir. The species of Motyxia bioluminesce, so be sure to look at this one at night; its body will light up in a neon white glow. Rowland Shelley
