I think this might be a yellow bear (spilosoma virginica)- although they are highly variable, it doesn't quite look like the others I've seen. I'd appreciate any thoughts or suggestions. Thanks!

Unfortunately, no shot of the face, but I agree that it looks much more like Estigmene acrea than Spilosoma virginica. Thanks for your help! :)

I have almost the exact pictu
I have almost the exact picture snapped yesterday in Virginia. I am also struggling to determine if its a VA tiger moth.

Maybe more likely to be
Estigmene acrea. If you have a shot of the face, that would help.
