Hello. I know these images are bumble bees, but I was wondering if I could get a more specific classification and any ideas on how to tell the gender if I can from the photos. Thanks!

Not a bumble bee, but the similar-looking, but not closely related,
Xylocopa virginica
- the Eastern Carpenter Bee, compare such images as:
Note the naked abdomen--I think bumble bees usually have fuzzy abdomens. Also, the Carpenter Bee is much larger than most bumble bees.
