Looks like two butterflies together??? - Hemaris diffinis
Davidson, Mecklenburgh County, North Carolina, USA

Size: Approx 4-5 inches
I saw this interesting creature at a butterfly bush in my yard. At first I though it may be two moths or something mating, however when I took a closer look it was a single creature and it flew with both sets of wings. Anyone know what this is?

Moved from Hemaris.

They look like this kind to me, Hummingbird Clearwings - Hemaris thysbe:

Not positive
but maybe they are snowberry clearwing moths. Cool shot:)

It is two moths, actually, mating
Genus Hemaris. Probably someone can get to species, but I have trouble with these. : )
