I love the way the green eyes show and the alert pose. Looks like a male to me (four functional legs, slender abdomen, etc).

 
Male/Female
You are probably right. It looked most like the female photo in the Brock & Kaufman Guide, but the slender abdomen makes sense for a male. It is a spectacular species and I'm glad I managed a photo; it didn't stay long.
