Size: 4.2 mm
Can anyone identify this Cryptocephalinae? In Stephen Marshall's book, Bassareus mammifer and Cryptocephalus notatus look similar but not a perfect match.

Not Cryptocephalus quadruplex
Not Cryptocephalus quadruplex. The white pronotal spots don't fit (quadruplex has solid black pronota). I'm guessing Bassareus based on the basal elytral spotting pattern.

the same thing
yes, looks like the same thing. I dive into it some more when I have some more time. The difference between the two genera is usually not visible from photos. Did you check with C. quadridruplex in the guide
