bizarre mayfly - Baetisca
George Washington & Jefferson National Forests, Augusta County, Virginia, USA
June 11, 2017
Observed during a field trip of the Dragonfly Society of the Americas annual meeting.

Moved from Mayflies.

Hi Joshua-

I believe this female subimago to be of genus Baetisca. However, I am unable to identify it to species level, as subimagoes of this genus are not described in any scientific papers of which I am aware.

Moved for expert attention
Moved from Carapacea.

Let's see if we can get a species. Roger doesn't generally review pics posted deeper in the Guide.

Armored mayfly(Baetisca)
Nice!! Rare genus! Maybe Roger can give you a species. Any other views?
