Noctuid - Lacinipolia buscki

Noctuid - Lacinipolia buscki
Rio Mesa, Grand County, Utah, USA
June 6, 2021

Moved to Lacinipolia buscki
Moved from Collared Arches Moth.

None of the live or spread images at MPG were verifiable and have been replaced with mostly DNA barcoded specimens. I don't know if strigicollis can get this brown. This is however the closest match in BugGuide I can find to the holotype and one of the paratype of buscki as well as the original description. I know of no way to conclusively separate the two species except by DNA barcode. Even dissection may be inconclusive.

Moved
Moved from Butterflies and Moths. It appears much more likely this is strigicollis.

Very nice image Kyle!
.

Looks like Lacinipolia...
...possibly L. buski or L. stigicollis.
