Crambid? - Ancylosis albipenella Eastern Sierra, Inyo County, California, USA August 8, 2021
~4150' elevation, Bishop.
Accidental discovery! Tube was connected to a branch of Wild Licorice (Glycyrrhiza lepidota), which I discovered when going thru cut food plant for a Melissa Blue caterpillar I was rearing.
3 days later a frisky caterpillar emerged with a tinge of pink, possibly looking for a place to pupate, then it disappeared.
Approximately 2 weeks later this moth appeared. I never saw where it pupated, possibly back inside the tube.
There is hair on the surface of the eyeballs of the moth.
