Rutelinae? - Macrodactylus uniformis

Rutelinae? - Macrodactylus uniformis
Madera Canyon, Santa Rita Mts., Pima County, Arizona, USA
July 17, 2008
Size: ~8-10mm
Several of these discovered on Silverleaf Oak, Quercus hypoleucoides. I'm thinking some kind of Shining Leaf Chafer. Looked through guide, but didn't find a match. Could someone verify the group or ID? I will post another shot of 2 different specimens next.

Moved from Macrodactylus.

Something to look for this weekend!
I hope my trip doesn't get rained out

Yes indeed -
It was gorgeous up there. Actually went to look for (and photograph) some uncommon snakes that are active in the area this time of year, but alas, didn't find any of them. However, in addition to the beetles, I did see a couple Elegant Trogons and several Sulphur-bellied Flycatchers, AND got some good images of both a beautiful Juniper Hairstreak and Taxiles Skipper. Didn't post these because the guide has good examples from Arizona already. Good luck this weekend Margarethe!
