*Not* 4Uloma pupa - Centronopus calcaratus Nashua, Hillsborough County, New Hampshire, USA
One of my 4Uloma larvae has pupated, and others appear to be nearing pupation.
Commonly found in moist, rotting birch and oak logs, these young tenebrionids (Darkling Beetles) responded just fine to a diet of dry puppy food and rolled oats. The similar-looking mealworm sold for live food in pet stores is usually reared in dry wheat bran, so I decided to stop keeping the 4Uloma larvae moist -- in part, to avoid having to change their food every two days because of mold. The experiment worked.
