Red ichneumon? - Trogus vulpinus
Perry County, Pennsylvania, USA

Size: about 2 1/2 Cm
found feeding on dill plants. i photographed it thinking it was the elusive red spider wasp i have been looking for only to find that it resembled more of an ichneumon. Darn those ichneumons and their ability to fool me!!!

Reasonably confident this is a species of Trogus, parasites of swallowtail caterpillars.
