Arizona Beetle for ID - Zygogramma tortuosa
Pena Blanca Spring off Ruby Road, Santa Cruz County, Arizona, USA
August 13, 2021
Size: 8 mm
These beetles were very common on the plant, the image of which is submitted also. The plant (species not determined) is a low weed about 2 feet high, growing in patches of several square yards at elevation about 4000 feet. Nearly every plant had at least one or two beetles usually in the highest leaf cluster, some had the larva (images submitted) thought to be of the same species as the beetle. No other beetle species were observed here.
