Apterous is correct.
The things looking like scales made me wonder, but I did look from many angles and no wings extending over the abdomen, and no longitudinal medial line marking the meeting of the wings. Also, not a single vein, so my conclusion was larva, or apterous species.

Now I get to take a look at his relatives!

Now, I'm thinking Bertkauia ...
I assume this one is apterous. It is far west of the recorded rage, but this is probably Bertkauia crosbyana.

Geeezzz you find cool stuff!
Working on it. Yes, Psocodea. Based on the numerous small flagellomeres and the "hairy" wings, I'm thinking Trogiomorpha: Lepidopsocidae. Haven't seem anything like it. I'll explore iNaturalist. Did yoy preserve the specimen?

Thanks, Diane! I was just reading the comics at the
kitchen table when this bug appeared. I got my trusty camera, and the rest is history.

I did preserve it. Hence the PA-11 (Preserved in Alcohol specimen #11) in the title of my submition.

But do you see what I mean by clown nose? It has an almost spherical projection below and between the eyes, and above the mouth. And it has hairs on it!
