Latridiidae, perhaps Melanophthalma, pupa in American Bellflower fruit/seed pod
Plymouth Rock, Winneshiek County, Iowa, USA
August 31, 2021
John van der Linden sent me a link to this moth larva in a fruit pod of American bellflower, Campanulastrum americanum.
but one sometimes counts

August 29, 2021: since I've seen more of this plant this year than in past years, I went looking for the larva and may have
found one larva but only one.

August 31, 2021: opened one pod to this pupa, put it into a gel cap
September 4, 2021: eyes and wings darkening
September 5, 2021: adult
