Long black flying insect on Goldenrod planned - Eremnophila aureonotata

Size: 3.5 cm
I saw this among lots of honeybees and a few other bees and wasps and flies on a golden rod plant today in the early afternoon in full sun. Quite a warm day. I’ve never seen this before and would like an ID, please!
