Pacific Forest Scorpion
I found one of these little guys yesterday on our property living under the bark of a dead maple branch. He was pretty small, less than 1/4 inch in length. This was the first scorpion I have seen in living here in WA State for the past 23 years, so I was quite surprised. Our property is mostly wooded. We live in the Onalaska area, in Lewis County, about 75 miles north of Portland.

As far north as known
Lyle is on the Columbia River, upstream from Portland.
This is about as far north as the species is known. If anyone has seen this species away from the Columbia River in Washington, let me know! =)

Did you see my post from yesterday? Range of this scorpion is obviously farther north than you thought.

Kari,
This particular one was found at Catherine Crk, part of the Columbia River Gorge Nat. Scenic Area (AKA Catherine Creek Natural Arch). I have found these all way the up the trail throughout that area and they are very abundant.
Though, if anyone would know if their range went any further North it would probably be Isaac Miller who has done a lot scorpion "hunting" in the Northwest particularly within 50mi of Portland. Here's his website, he also has a flickr account as "The Nothing."
