Red-brown fly resting on Glycyrrhiza lepidota leaf, wasp mimic with narrowed base of abdomen. In extensive Glycyrrhiza lepidota patch in full flower in full sun grassland area with Bromus inermis and Agropyron cristatum. Mid-morning, light breeze, sunny, 79 F.

Elevation ca 4000 feet. Disturbed, shrubby riparian corridor on stream restoration site within a patchwork of native and non-native grassland.
