Carabid - Platynus hypolithos

Carabid - Platynus hypolithos
Woodford, Bennington County, Vermont, USA
July 10, 2008
Size: 14mm

Thanks Peter
I thought this was one of the more unusual carabids I've found so far.

Platynus hypolithos
based on my microscopic examination of this specimen. Not so apparent in image are the uneven intervals and distinctive setigerous punctures spread across the elytra. Thanks Tom.

can it be a Delto*merus? hmmm... looking nice

Deltomerus sp.
I'll wait for Peter to look at the specimen, since there isn't a guide page yet for this genus.
